Uvs Lake Basin is a strictly protected area, semi desert land of mysterious deserts, sand dunes, tundra forest, endless steppes, majestic snowcapped mountains and crystal clear lakes all in one place, in concurrent location. Lake Uvs is an enormous inland sea. Lake Uvs is a part of the greater protected area that includes the Altan Els sand dunes and Mountain Tsagaan Shuvuut.
